To compete with Reliance Jio feature phone, Airtel comes with an initiative Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone. Airtel announced a partnership with device manufacturers – Karbonn Mobiles and Celkon – to offer 4G smartphones at the price of a feature phone.
Under the partnership, the Karbonn A40 Indian and Celkon Smart 4G – comes at an ‘effective price’ of 1399. Both the smartphones under the initiative Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone, comes with cashback offer.
Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone Update
Yesterday – The 16th of November, Airtel introduces two more affordable smartphone under the initiative Mera Pehla 4G Smartphone, Karbonn A1 Indian & Karbonn A41 Power comes at an ‘effective price’ of 1799 (market price 4390) & 1849 (market price 4290) respectively.

One difference between both the smartphones is – A1 Indian supports 22 Indian languages while A41 Indian is not.
Airtel is giving cashback of 1500, thus its’ smartphones will be available in the market at an ‘effective price’ of less than 2000. To avail the offer, you will have to insert Airtel Mobile SIM card in the Device (which is deemed associated with the offer). The cashback, which is divided into two parts, will be given on the Airtel Payments Bank account on this mobile number subject to the following:
- For cashback of 500 in first 18 months:
- Subscriber must recharge the Airtel Mobile number associated with the Offer atleast once every month for 18 months; AND
- A recharge of minimum 3000 over the period of preceding 18 months should be done on the Device.
- For cashback of 1000 at the end of 36 months:
- Subscriber must recharge the Airtel Mobile number associated with the offer atleast once every month for 18 months; AND
- A recharge of minimum 3000 over the period of preceding 18 months should be done on the Device.
How to Opt-in for Cashback Offer
- The customer has to do down payment for a 4G smartphone, the price of each smartphone is as below:
- Karbonn A40 Indian: 2899
- Celkon Smart 4G: 2849
- Karbonn A1 Indian: 3299
- Karbonn A41 Power: 3349
- Make 36 continuous monthly recharges of 169
- The customer will get a cash refund of 500 after 18 months and another 1000 after 36 months (Total: 1500).
In case the customer doesn’t want to opt for the 169 bundled plan (not eligible for cashback offer), she/he can do any other recharge as per their requirement.
