After connecting the 4G smartphones users, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. introduced Reliance JioPhone – India Ka Smartphone for feature phone users who have been left out of the digital revolution. Earlier, Mukesh Ambani introduced this feature phone on 21st July 2017 at the 40th Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The pre-booking of JioPhone was started on Jio’s official website from 24th August 2017 on payment of a refundable security deposit of 1,500. You can also pre-book via SMS. This deposit will be refunded after 36 months on the return of this feature phone and this is how the price of the phone will be effectively zero. Pre-booking will be on the First Come, First Serve basis.
