Big News! State-owned BSNL will soon launch its 4G VoLTE services in the telecom market of India. Till date, BSNL offers only 2G and 3G connectivity to its subscribers. If BSNL rolls out its 4G VoLTE services before other telecom operators than it can easily cover the major 4G market, as it has a wide connectivity from city to city, town to town & village to village.

Currently, only Reliance Jio provides 4G VoLTE connectivity in India. Beside BSNL, Airtel, Vodafone & Idea Cellular are also planning to launch its 4G VoLTE services by September 2017.
Therefore, if BSNL successfully apply its 4G plan on floor and also other telecom operators too then we Indians can see fruitful competition and amazing surprises from all these telecom operators and can again enjoy the 4G freebies & other benefits like we are enjoying in Jio.

Anupam Shrivastava , the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of BSNL, stated that the BSNL will launch 4G mobile services shortly and the VoLTE services will also be introduced by BSNL during the financial year 2017-18.

After rolling out VoLTE services, BSNL will become the 2nd telco to provide the service in India.
However, BSNL does not have 4G spectrum in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kolkata.
BSNL upcoming 4G VoLTE plans
When it comes to BSNL’s upcoming 4G VoLTE plans, Shrivastava explained that the offers will be priced competitively. The telco is already matching tariff by tariff, plan by plan with the private telcos.
4G services Spectrum
According to Economic Times , in July-end Shrivastava had said that the company expects to get the government’s approval soon for using airwaves in 700 MHz band for offering 4G services, and 5G services in the future. The telco has written to the Department of Telecom (DoT) to allocate airwaves in the 700 MHz band for rolling out 4G services.

BSNL is in talks with private telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm for sharing its dark, or unused, optic fibre as part of its efforts to double its revenue from network sharing to about 3,000 crore in 2017-18.
