The mobile wallet company MobiKwik has recently launched Bubble Pin, a one-step offline payments mode, which allows users to make payments even without data connection. Beside this, MobiKwik has tied up with IRCTC to offer its wallet service as a payment option in e-catering app “Food on Track”.
Purpose: To promote offline payments.
MobiKwik’s Bubble Pin
The pin can be generated on the MobiKwik app by clicking on ‘Pay at store’, which will be valid for 60 seconds. Then, users need to share the unique pin with the retailer to make the payment. The pin is a combination of numbers and alphabets. Bubble pin also makes the transaction more secure as no phone number is required to be shared. In future, this new feature will be available in over 25,000 offline stores across India.
With this new feature, customer can make digital payments with MobiKwik at basements, parking lots and even in a flying airline, where the data network reception is not available or is intermittent.
Bubble Pin is the first step in enabling users to go completely cashless, especially at places that have sporadic cell reception. MobiKwik has also launched M-Gullak – a micro savings initiative with Samagra NGO – serving urban poor.
