Reliance Jio GigaFiber Broadband

Reliance Jio is creating a big digital boom in the Indian market. Firstly, it launched its full-fledged free unlimited 4G services through Jio sim cards in India. As part of the offer, Reliance Jio SIM card comes with the Preview offer which gives users an access to free unlimited 4G data for the first three months. Secondly, it developed a Reliance JioFi portable broadband device that allows multiple users and mobile devices to access Jio’s 4G high-speed internet connectivity and create a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.

Now, what’s next? This curiosity is arising in the Indian market. Then, according to Financial express, Reliance Jio is expected to launch its new optical fiber broadband service – Jio GigaFiber in which users will get up to 1GBps.

Though, the Jio GigaFiber Boradband Offer will not provide unlimited internet for users. The starting offer of the service will be 600 GB Data at Rs 500. The broadband will only work with its GigaFiber router and will cost between 4000 to 6000.

Currently, Reliance Jio is testing its “Jio GigaFiber service” i.e. FTTH-based home broadband service in parts of Mumbai and Pune with free preview offer.

As per economic times, Reliance the Jio GigaFiber will be offered free of cost to users for 90 days (or 3 months), as part of the Jio Welcome Offer.

The set-top box for JioTV will works as a router and it will be able to connect 44 devices at one time. The Jio TV service will offer 350 channels including about 50 in HD. The service will save all the TV content for seven days.

Optical  Fiber Technology

Today! We all are living in global information village, where we use Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc., in our day-to-day activities. If anything thing happens in one part of the world, the information immediately reaches to other part of the world. This is possible only because of Optical Fiber communication.

The Optical Fiber communication has largely impacted many fields such as aerospace, civil engineering, military, petro-chemical, environmental, bio-medical and computer networks.

Basic Structure of Optical Fiber

Optical fiber is the backbone of the world’s communications. It is a method of transmitting information from one place to another by sending pulses of light through an optical fiber.

The basic structure of an optical fiber consists of three parts: Core, Cladding and Buffer Coating. The Core is a thin glass rod where the optical signals travel. The cladding surrounds the core to prevent the optical signals from leaking out. The buffer coating protects the fiber from external damage.

The optical fibers are widely used for image and high speed data transmission. Largely, they are use in Closed-Circuit TV (CCTV) System and medical equipment like the Fiberscope.  These fibers are least expensive, most reliable for high speed and long distance communications. They have point to point cmmunication, low weight  and low manufacturing cost.
