What you have seen on your emoji keyboard ? A dancing woman, another is painting her nails, one is flipping her hair or have makeover. Soon, you will see huge range of feminist emojis on your phone’s emoji keyboard.
Thursday, A team from the Tech Giant submitted a proposal to the unicode consortium to add 13 new professional emojis, that will show woman doing different roles in different professions. 13 emojis will be in both male & female options with all the skin tones. Unicode is also adding male and female versions to 33 existing emojis.
Amy Butcher said in The New York Times, “Where was the lawyer? The accountant? The surgeon? How was there space for both a bento box and a single fried coconut shrimp, and yet women were restricted to a smattering of tired, beauty-centric roles?” This argument was also noticed by Michele Obama and she said. “We would love to see a girl studying emoji.”
The Google Team have created 13 new emojis, the proposed professional will include a Doctor, Engineer, Coder, Chef, Scientist, Mechanic, weightlifter, cyclist, healthcare or surfer among others.
