Google Pay: A merger of Android Pay & Google Wallet

On 20th of February 2018, Google‘s new mobile payments app – Google Pay – has been officially rolled out for android users, which will directly challenge its rival Apple Pay. The new app will replace pre-existing digital payment services Google Wallet and Android Pay.

Google Wallet: An application that allows users to send money to friends and family.

Android Pay: A solution that let android users buy goods in brick-and-mortar stores by holding their smartphones next to a sensor at checkout.

The app is the fast, simple way to pay through smartphone in millions of places – online, in stores, and more. It brings together everything you need at checkout and keeps your information safe and secure.

The platform includes features like the ability to pay at checkout counters with a smartphone or pay for public transportation.

Google Pay has two specific areas: Home & Cards

  1. Home section: Shows your recent transactions & purchases, and makes suggestions on nearby stores. Here, One will also enjoy easy access to rewards, and get helpful tips.

Is Google Pay safe to use?

This new Google’s digital payment system  protects your payment info with multiple layers of security by using one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your account safe.

How your account info will be secure?

When you are paying in-store, Google Pay will not share your actual card info. Instead, the merchant receives a unique encrypted number.

What happen, if you lose your phone?

Use Find My Device, which will remotely find the device, lock or erase your phone details. Through this method, Google Pay will protect your information.

Right now, the new digital payment app is available for android users and will soon available for iPhone users.
