Mr. Rajnath Singh, the Union Home Minister, has launched the social media awareness campaign regarding Bharat Ke Veer portal on Twitter wall on the eve of 70th Independence Day of India to pay homage to those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. He appealed to the citizens to support the martyrs’ families.

According to an official release, this social media awareness campaign will display all tweets with hashtag
#BharatKeVeer at Connaught Place, CGO complex and Khan Market in New Delhi where huge LED display screens have been installed.
The Bharat Ke Veer portal is not merely for donation it is sharing of responsibility among civilians for those soldiers who sacrificed their life leaving their family to beloved country.
This is a special year as we are celebrating 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement, 100th anniversary of Champaran Satyagraha & 125th anniversary of Ganesh Utsav.
So, why do wait, let us join our hands to make India strong by extending support to #BharatKeVeer.
On this occasion, Mr Rajnath Singh and Ministers of State for Home Affairs Mr. Hansraj Gangaram Ahir and Mr. Kiren Rijiju contributed their one month salary along with their allowances to Bharat Ke Veer fund.

In a tweet, Mr Singh said, he has handed over a cheque of 1.59 lakh to the Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi in New Delhi.

The portal was launched by Mr. Rajnath Singh along with actor Akshay Kumar on the occasion of Shaurya Diwas on 9th April 2017 to help families of slain soldiers. It facilitates online donation directly to the families of CAPF Martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country in line of duty from 1st January 2016.
