The Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) App for iOS has officially launched by NPCI and is now available on the Apple App store with an updated version – 1.2. Currently, the languages offers on iOS platform are Hindi and English whereas, Android version supports 7 new regional languages apart from existing English and Hindi languages.
Though, the functionality of iOS platform of BHIM app is equipped with updated features available on BHIM’s Android version 1.2. These include Pay to Aadhaar Number, SPAM report, Customer Redressal Mechanism with drop down menu, etc. Just like Android version, BHIM App on iOS also has a limit of 10,000 per transaction and 20,000 in a day for transfers through the bank account. You can send, receive, collect money by using Virtual Payment Address (VPA), mobile number, Scan and Pay option, etc. The excerpts of the features of iOS version are as follows-
- Transaction records: You can check your profile and all your transaction records whether they are processed successfully or are still pending.
- Transfer or Receive Money Through VPA or Mobile Number: You can do financial transactions through UPI enabled Virtual Payment Address (VPA ) or mobile number. Ex. nishantpatil@upi or 91000000@upi. The mobile number of the beneficiary must be registered with their bank account for financial transactions.
Transfer Money in BHIM app - Transfer Money Through ‘Scan & Pay’ Option: BHIM app has in-built QR code feature. Thus, by using ‘Scan & Pay option, you can scan a QR code and transfer and collect money anytime. It is error free & highly secure medium to transfer money.
- Receive Money Through QR code: BHIM app has an option to generate QR code by using your Virtual Payment Address (VPA). QR code is used to receive payments without sharing your VPA or mobile number. This feature is especially useful for merchants who can just place their QR code in front of their shops or office and receive payments easily without doing any operational activity.

The iOS version of BHIM app supports over 35 banks such as State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Allahabad Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank and IDFC Bank. The app does not work on the non-cellular iPAD.
