Hey guys! First let me clear you that DigiLocker is the National Digital Locker through which you can digitally store your confidential documents easily & securely. The Digital Locker is the Digital India initiative of the Government of India (GoI).
In terms of security, the Digital Locker is the highly secure cloud-based platform for storage, issuance and verification of digital documents & certificates in a digital way.

Good News for us is that now Banks are also integrating with this unique DigiLocker platform for its customers.
ICICI Integration with DigiLocker
Recently, ICICI Bank has integrated its retail net-banking platform with DigiLocker and is providing this facility Free-of-cost to all savings account customers of their bank.
To avail the facility, you do not require separate credentials to access DigiLocker; once registered; you can directly login through the ICICI Bank net-banking platform without further authentication.
In simple words, if you have mapped your Aadhaar number with your bank account then you can directly register and access Digital Locker while you are logged in to your internet banking account.
Benefits of DigiLocker
This unique platform is not only beneficial for us but also for nature as it reduces carbon footprint by reducing the paper usage. The other benefits are as follows:
- Availability: You can access your digital documents anytime, anywhere and also share documents digitally for verification.
- Signature: Helpful for self-attestation in the form of digital signatures.
- Authentication: The facility makes it easier to validate the authenticity of documents as they are issued directly by the registered issuers.
- Document Processing: Minimizes the usage of paper and speed up document processing in availing various citizen centric document services.

At present, over 20 organizations including the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Ministry of Road Transport, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, including various e-District applications are part of the Digital Locker ecosystem.
